There has long been a debate over which of the omega-3 fatty acids (docosahexaenoic acid DHA or eicosapentaenoic acid EPA) has more of an impact on inflammation. Data from a recent double-blind, crossover, randomized, controlled study of 152 adults indicated DHA may in fact be the winner in this inflammatory battle of the fatty acids by providing greater reduction in specific markers of inflammation than an equal dose of EPA.
